“I once was lost but now I’m found” - My Wedding Ring

I was taking the trash out to the garage tonight and I passed my softball bag…I thought what the heck, so I turned the bag over and there it was…a secret side pocket. It’s all coming back to me now. I had put the ring in the secret pocket so I wouldn’t lose it or have it stolen from any of the people that play in the church softball league with me. All is right again, my ring finger is no longer exposing its nakedness and Libby is pumped that we don’t have to pay for another ring. Thanks for the prayers, they worked.

Tomorrow I will be blogging here and over at buddycremeans.com about the unbelievable launch of our new Colonie location. Easter Weekend was unreal and I look forward to unloading all that I have downloaded this weekend.

My 4 year old twin nieces were in town this weekend and they always provide great quotes…I will give you some context for each one.

After looking at the sonogram picture of our baby…

“Uncle Brian, is your baby black?” -Isabella

While I am talking on the phone and getting a pep talk from Buddy on Saturday night…Alessandra had a seashell to her ear…

“Uncle Brian, please be quiet…I am listening to the ocean” - Alessandra

I am Patrick, yes a sinner and indeed untaught; yet I am established here in Ireland where I profess myself bishop. I am certain in my heart that ‘all that I am,’ I have received from God. So I live among barbarous tribes, a stranger and exile for the love of God.“

-St.Patrick

“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, either way you are right”
Henry Ford (1863-1947)

My buddy Steve Cuthbert hit me with this quote last night on the phone. I can’t get it out of my head…it’s so simple but purely profound. I hope this quote haunts you today as well!

Stained glass windows… they were the first movies, stories told through color projected by sunlight

- Bono, U218 album

Hundreds of years ago the church was the creative center of the world, from their beautiful stained glass windows to their elaborately painted ceilings…the unmatchable architecture of their buildings. I believe it’s time for the church to again become that creative force within our culture.

At Northway Church we invest heavily into the Creative Arts. We have replaced the stained glass windows with 3o foot screens that allow us to tell stories on them through high definition projectors. The stories of the Bible come to life each and every week. We are continually asking ourselves, how do we get better at telling the story - how do we leverage technology and God given creativity to present the message in a way that engages the hearts of those sitting in our chairs.

How is your church leveraging technology and the arts?
