I was talking to my friend Sam today about church…Sam Winters is the man by the way, he loves THE HOUSE as much as anyone I have ever met. Him and his family and a bunch of other committed peeps travel an hour or so to serve and be a part of Northway Colonie. We talked about the possibilities in Colonie and the Berkshires, what it means to be a follower of Jesus, what could be and should be…all stuff I love to dream and scheme about.
We were talking about building a team in Colonie that gets it!! That understands it’s all about God and the lifechange that comes from accepting His gift of Grace. I love conversations where you stumble into something that truly impacts your life and today it was this. I want to be and I want to build a team and a church where WE GLORIFY GOD IN ALL WE DO and WE DON’T NEED TO BE GLORIFIED because of our part in it. I can admit that there have been times when I have received the Glory and kept the glory for myself. I want my life and our team and our staff to be Glory deflecters.
Do you want to be Glorified or do you want to Glorify???

You’re right Brian…Sam IS “The Man”.
We actually went out to dinner once and gave that as the name of our party. They gave out the page, “Sam the man” and we all got the biggest laugh. Ha…good times.
I love what you said and I’m glad you two had a chance to talk. We’re developing such great friendships with the people at NC…EVEN living so far away.
It’s my hope and my prayer that NC comes to the Berkshires because there’s a GREAT need here and there are no other churches like it in our area (hence we travel). Thanks so much for all that you do Brian. The men and women in leadership at NC do “get it”. It’s a privilege to work and worship along side of such incredible people.

Definitely, GLORIFY! It’s easy to get comfortable on the “glorified” bus, though. Time to get off the bus!

I give all the glory to God 100% I think of how He has worked magic in my life over the past year, I think of NC Celebration weekend, and of the moment I stepped into that (freezing :} )pool to proclaim my love for Him. My heart fills so fast I think it will burst. This team you want to build sounds amazing!
