Four days ago i spent 5 minutes in the Media Booth with our cold striken Production Director Dave and I have been sick ever since. The “sickness” has spread through our staff and our volunteers and it was enough to knock me out of commision today. I rarely get sick and even more rarely do I see a doctor however that drought might come to an end tomorrow as my head is screaming for some antibiotics. Libby stole my sick thunder earlier this week as her naseau and stomach pain was worse then my dripping nose and pressure filled head. Somehow she managed to get better and is now in Dallas on business leaving me to fend off the “sickness” on my own. As a kid my mom knew how to tell if I was really sick and now as an adult i have learned to put these questions to the test to see if I truly am sick…
1 . Am I uncontrollably itching under my chin – For some reason the itchiness factor is always present during a sick day.
2. Do I watch sportscenter – if not, call the doctor now.
3. Am I speaking caveman – I resort to a somewhat primative form of speech filled with whining and grunting
How do you know when you are truly sick?

I so did not try to steal your sick thunder. And I would like to add #4 to the list…I know you are sick when you lose the will to play golf.

I know I’m sick when I don’t even feel like checking my e-mail…

ps – i know i am sick when I am too tired to eat or sleep. I don’t think I’ve ever been too sick to eat. Except that one day a couple weeks ago…
